Committee of Human Rights Reporters (CHRR)- Human rights activist Kouhyar Goudarzi was released today on $88,000 bail.
Incarcerated human rights activist Kouhyar Goudarzi had been issued a 5-year prison sentence and exile to the city of Zabol. Today after enduring 8 months behind bars in solitary confinement in Ward 209 of Evin prison, Goudarzi was granted temporary release.
Kouhyar Goudarzi was arrested on July 31, 2011 and kept in solitary confinement for over 50 days. His whereabouts were unknown for over 3 months and he had no visitation with his family during the duration of his incarceration.
The Committee of Human Rights Reporters congratulates Kouhyar’s friends and family on this occasion of his freedom.
